La Reina del Norte was an installation created for the Day of Dead exhibition at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago in 2003. The poem on the wall behind the figure of La Muerte tells the story of the dangerous journey to the North attempted by so many desperate people, who in seeking a better life, frequently encounter more tragedy and loss."
